Jun 23, 2019Pork Futures Take a DiveSeries: Guest SermonWe always say we welcome the stranger in our church. Here's a challenge: what if a homeless naked guy came in and started shouting as if he was possessed by demons? How would we react? I don't even know how I'd react. We know how Jesus would react, because he met a guy like this. Other people would often bind the guy with chains. Jesus decided to unbind him from his real trouble: he commanded the unclean spirit to leave the man. The demon didn't go easily. It turned out there were many of them, not just one. But Jesus sent the demons into some pigs, and the pigs drowned in a lake. How do you suppose other people reacted when they saw that? We'll find out on when we hear the sermon.

- Nov 27, 2016“The Path To Peace”
Nov 27, 2016“The Path To Peace”By: Dan HairSeries: Guest SermonIsaiah 2: 1-5Sunday, November 27th, is the first Sunday of Advent, the four week season of the church year that leads up to Christmas. The season celebrates the continual coming of the Christ in Word and Spirit. We are called to prepare for this coming. Each Sunday has a distinctive theme. This first Sunday proclaims Christ’s coming for the conversion of all nations in a great final feast of lasting peace, where all weapons of destruction are remade into implements of health and wholeness. The text in Isaiah 2: 1-5 calls us once again to consider this vision for world peace and the path that leads us there. In thesermonI will share my faith and conviction that God can do this through us as we follow Jesus, even in our war torn world.

Nov 20, 2016“Hello, my name is…”By: Scott Van DaalenSeries: Guest SermonJonah 1 - 4"It is human nature to see characteristics of ourselves in characters that we read about. When reading the Bible, I love to imagine myself as a character like Paul, Abraham, Moses, or any other powerful figure. As I grow in my faith, I find that I align with a much less powerful figure. As Christians today, what can we learn from a prophet that ran from God?"

Jun 21, 2015Through the Storm, through the NightBy: GuestSeries: Guest SermonRev Peter Milloy - Through the Storm, through the NightEver experience “storms of life”? There are times when everything goes crazy, what’s going on threatens to overwhelm you, and things spiral out of control. Sometimes you go through dark times in your life. It’s hard to see the hope, the purpose, the joy. You can get so defeated and it’s hard to keep going. Yes, you can manage for a while, but the storm, the darkness, doesn’t let up. You grow exhausted, and you want to give up. There’s a story in the Bible about how Jesus came to His followers during the night, during the storm, and commanded all be still. This is an outward sign of how Jesus can do this into each one of us. Come this Sunday and find the hope, find the light, find the peace. Mark 4:35-41
